Hello everyone! welcome to the latest edition of our club news letter, coming to you on Tuesday, the 2nd December 2025.
Firstly, a big thank you to Janet for organising last months Wednesday Wander to the Code Breakers at Bletchley park, what a great place and one we will visit again.
Secondly a big thank you for organising the..
Wednesday Wanderers Christmas Lunch.
Here’s a quick update on our Wednesday Wanderers – Report from Janet.
“For November’s Wednesday Wanderers date, 25 of us had an early Festive Lunch at the Horse and Jockey pub south of Dunstable. Our 2 long tables were nicely decorated and we all had crackers.
The service was a little slow but the food was very good. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves judging by the noise level from the chatter and also the good comments I received afterwards.
Obviously there will be no WW outing in December so I’ll start thinking again for January.”
Does anyone have any suggestions for a suitable (remember it’s January!) Wednesday Wander venue or event?
Here’s a quick rundown of our upcoming club events:
Wednesday Wanderers:
No Wednesday Wanderers in December as we have the clubs Christmas Meal.
LDMGOC Christmas Dinner:
The Club’s Christmas Meal at The View in Pegsdon (sat nav – SG5 3JX) is on Saturday, the 13th of December, arriving for drinks at 19:00 and sit down for the meal at 19:30.
Dress code – smart, dress to impress.
Events:
Not a Club event but Vintage Stony is on Thursday 1st January from 9:30am till 14:00 (suggested £5 donation to Willen Hospice) pre 1940’s cars in the square – and 1 minutes noise at 12:30.
Other than these, we have nothing in the calendar!
Unless anyone knows of any events or things we can do/attend before Christmas or in January?
Pub Night:
No Pub night in December.
First Club meeting for 2026:
Next Club meeting on the 3rd January 2026, is this good for everyone or do you prefer it be moved to
the 10th January?
AOB.
The St Patrick’s Day Parade in Luton will be on Saturday, the 14th of March – I’m looking for classic
cars to attend again and this time, thanks to Richard, we have two magnetic club signs to promote the
club. FYI – indirectly we have won an award from the Luton Council – Step Forward Luton: Winner:
Luton St. Patrick’s Festival 2025.
2026 Events:
The dates for your diaries for our signature shows for next year :-
Luton Festival of Transport – 14th June 2026
South Beds Classic Vehicle Show – 9th August 2026
The Rotary Club will be looking for volunteers and we will contact those running the shows nearer the time.
Events page:
The club stands will be booked if the organisers of the shows allow it.
Lately, organisers have been only allowing individuals to book online with different options for the club stand.
Some shows are turn-up only, and a few are displayed by age. We’ll do our best to let you know how and when to book your tickets well in advance, whenever possible.
We are back into the social calendar and most of us will be tucking the classic cars away or doing maintenance to get ready for next season.
I have the dates for the Chiltern Hills Classic Car Show for next year and will start to build the events calendar probably in February, when we start to get more events confirmed.
St Patrick’s Day Parade is on Saturday, the 14th March – watch this space for more St Patrick’s Day events, i.e. Quiz night at the Black Swan – quiz team of six club members?!
Anyone interested?
