Wednesday Wanderers Report

Our May outing was a visit to the History of Vauxhall exhibition in the Discovery Centre at Stockwood Park, Luton.

The first reaction on arrival was surprise because there seemed to be hundreds of people in the park and it turned out to be a big Eid festival which I was unaware of.

Of course, there was the corresponding large number of cars in the vicinity and in fact, Gary was refused entry on the Farley Hill side although we managed to get in that way.

Luckily, the Discovery Centre itself was very quiet and the exhibition with old pictures and lots to read was quite interesting and nostalgic, particularly for those longer-term local residents whose parents were involved in the local industries.

Possibly not one of our most successful outings.

Next Planned Event:

Buckden near St Neots, which is a village partly dating back to medieval times with buildings of historical interest – and three pubs.

Club stands will be booked if the organisers of the shows allow; however, the recent trend is for organisers to only allow individuals to book online with various options employed for the club stand.

Examples are: Club Name for Chiltern Hills Rally and a club code issued for Kimbolton. Some shows are turn-up only, and a few

are display by age – we will endeavour to advise you of how and when to book your tickets well in advance where possible.
