Welcome to the 6 October 2026 Luton & Dunstable MGOC Newsletter.

Welcome everyone to the Tuesday, 6 October 2026 edi:on of the club’s newsletter.

Club Business

The proposed Club Holiday to the IoM has just 1 confirmed and 2 maybes. This is not enough to get us the rates or to be able to book through the tour company.

We had a busy weekend at the beginning of the month with two shows: Redbourn and the A602 Autorama.

Four cars attended Redbourn with a few in fancy dress; as usual, this was well attended and sunny and is always worth a visit. The A602 Autorama was a bit different, with more emphasis on the American cars and a new layout; it was just me and Tony attending this one but made a good end to the show season – we may not have the opportunity or weather for more club shows this year….

Wednesday Wanderers Report

Report of Wednesday wanderings and the next planned event:

Our September outing was to Boisham Airfield Museum, east of Cambridge, with 14 members.

There were helicopter flights on offer, so it was rather noisy siUng outside, but very warm in the sun.

Afetr drinks and a snack lunch, we explored the various rooms and offices set up as they would have been when the airfield was operatonal during World War 2.

There were some very lifelike models of officers, support staff, nurses and different personnel, plus many interesting artefacts, model planes and detailed information on display. In the hangar there was a full-size Tiger Moth plane and a Mustang cockpit–see the photo of Gary at the controls.

One member braved a helicopter flight and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had a good day out with a pleasant drive there and back, and no mishaps!

The next Wednesday wander will be to: TBC

Club stands will be booked if the organisers of the shows allow; however, the recent trend is for organisers to only allow individuals to book online due to Martyn’s Law, with various options employed for the club stand.

Examples are: Club Name for Chiltern Hills Rally and a club code issued for Kimbolton.

Some shows are turn-up only, and a few are display by age – we will endeavour to advise you of how and when to book your tickets well in advance where possible.

The next club events we need to prepare for:

Christmas Meal and Lunch – please make your menu selections ready for when Janet needs to submit them – the venues have been emailed out.

Please look out for when the final amounts are due.

Thursday of the month, starting at 5:00pm

Musgrave Arms meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 4pm
