Welcome to the 3 November 2026 Luton & Dunstable MGOC Newsletter.

Welcome everyone to the Tuesday, 3 November 2026 editon of the club’s newsletter.

Club Business

Please, if you are attending one or both of the Christmas meals and have not advised Janet of your Menu selection, please do so now.

Pub night:

Was at the Jolly Topers, where we managed to commandeer an alcove and had a nice natter and the food wasn’t bad either.

This month’s and January’s Pub nights will move to more main-road, well-lit venues, easy to get to and home from, be local (for the majority) to allow for the weather and the darker nights and roadworks!

Wednesday Wanderers Report

Report of Wednesday wanderings and the next planned event:

This Wednesday Wander was from an invite from Matt and Amanda, the new landlords at the White Lion in Dunstable, who as their first event on their third day in residence had a car meet on – you guessed it – Wednesday the 28th!

We had 5 classic cars, eleven people and one dog in attendance.

We socialised a bit with a few other classic car owners and regulars at the pub and then retired inside for a drink and a meal as it was getting cold.

Amanda was great, getting us seated and sorted out – even sending a staff member to a local shop for soup for Tricia.

Very welcoming and eager to do more classic car things with us in the future.

Matt even owns a Fire Engine which was parked in the car park.

One venue we will try and keep in touch with for future events.

The next Wednesday wander will be to: None planned for December.

This Month’s Events

Anyone going to the Stony Stratford New Year’s Day Event?

I’ve not seen any events advertised for November or December, probably coming to an end now the clocks have gone back!

Pub Night will be at:

The Ewe and Lamb, 140 Dunstable Road, LU5 4LE – Tel 01582 664654 on 17 November 2026 (around 20:30 or earlier if dining (Last food order at 21:00)).

Events Page:

Note:

Club stands will be booked if the organisers of the shows allow; however, the recent trend is for organisers to only allow individuals to book online due to Martyn’s Law with various options employed for the club stand.

Examples are: Club Name for Chiltern Hills Rally and a club code issued for Kimbolton.

Some shows are turn-up only, and a few are display by age – we will endeavour to advise you of how and when to book your tickets well in advance where possible.

The next club events we need to prepare for:

None at this time.

Mid-week meetings: These are coming to an end now that the clocks have gone back:

The Plough at Kings Walden has started its classic car monthly meetings on the last Thursday of the

month, starting at 5:00pm

Musgrave Arms meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 4pm

The Compasses in Greenfield is on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
