The Events Calendar is now on our website – LDMGOC check it out and if you want to contribute to the site please send your submission to Richard Arnold.

The Secretaries’ Tour went down well as did the beer “tasting” – Nice brunch at the Travellers Rest and a very informative and enjoyable tour of the Brewery and we had great weather – hope you enjoyed it.

Wednesday Wanderers Report.

Report of Wednesday wanderings and next planned event: TBC

For March’s outing, 12 members visited Ascott N.T. near Wing on the Buckinghamshire border.

There were still swathes of daffodils in bloom and some beautiful displays of tulips and hyacinths in the long garden.

The magnolia trees were also in full bloom. We had a light lunch in the tea room and the sausage rolls were very popular.

Although the weather forecast was bad, we were lucky to be under cover (a large tree and the tea room) for two short, sharp showers of hailstones, although the wind was very cold.

I would recommend the gardens for a visit during the summer as the flowers and varied types of trees and topiary are always impressive.

The next club event –

Sunday 19th April – Club Treasure Hunt.

Those attending should have already advised Dave or Carol.

We also need deposits at today’s meeting (7th April) and Dave will issue out details to those participating and the venue for those who are just joining for the meal.

Sunday 26th April – Clubs Classic Drive-It Day, due to low interest I’ve had to rein in the distance travelled so have changed the venue to the Leighton Buzzard Railway.

Meeting for brunch at the Travellers Rest at 11:00 am, leaving at 1:00 for the railway.

Tickets for the 1:30 train ride are £11.30 each (senior) and will need to be booked online (tickets) or take a chance on the day.

I suggest a meal at the Globe Inn, Leighton Buzzard to round off the day.

Pub Night will be at The Lilly Arms, West Street, Lilley, LU2 8LN – Tel 01462 768371 on

Tuesday 21st April (around 20:30 or earlier if dining).

Club stands will be booked if the organisers of the shows allow; however, the recent trend is for organisers to only allow individuals to book online with various options employed for the club stand.

Examples are: Club Name for Chiltern Hills Rally and a club code issued for Kimbolton.

Some shows are turn-up only and a few are display by age – we will endeavour to advise you of how and when to book your tickets well in advance where possible.

Kimbolton Country Fayre & Classic Car Show is on the 19th July; we have a club stand reserved but please do not book a ticket yet; we need a code/go-ahead from the organisers before we can book.

I also need numbers so if you want to attend this show please advise me so I can add you to the list.

Please note: The Plough at Kings Walden has started its classic car monthly meetings on the last Thursday of the month starting at 6:00pm apart from the 1st one which is on the 23rd April…
